Autumn at the Community Greenhouses

The Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses occupy a large area adjoining the Walled Garden, and include two long greenhouses, the Kitchen Garden and the walled Herb Garden. There is also a pond and meadow area (in the foreground of this photograph) managed as a wildlife habitat and the Orchard and Forest Garden near the main gate. The BPCG is one of the most interesting and visually varied parts of the park, but up until this autumn I haven’t included it in the project owing to the opening times not usually coinciding with good photography weather. I hope to rectify this over the coming months, and am glad to have begun in such an attractive season. October 2009.
