Birch Glory
This photograph of a young birch tree was made from within the most intense beams and perspective makes them appear to radiate from the partially hidden sun. The positioning of the lens was crucial to avoid lens flare from the direct sunlight. While I don’t believe this is one of the best images from the project, the conditions were particularly appropriate for the kind of images I wanted to make of the park – moments of unexpected natural glory that make monuments out of commonplace things.
