Cool soft light from a clear blue sky brings out the power of the blue-greens and violets of these globe thistles and euphorbias in one of the beds around the walled garden’s edge. A very different colour palette from the thistles in the mulberry tree photograph, despite being only a metre away and at the same time of year. 2008.
