Spring Pergola
A spring counterpart to the winter pergola with the wisteria in flower and in a new more blooming iteration. This image may not have the graphic power of the almost monochrome winter one, but is nevertheless a good representation of the character of the walled garden - the scene is more reminiscent of a country estate than an urban park. This view is less successful in summer as the wisteria leaves become too thick to allow much light in. 2009.
