Evening Shower in the Walled Garden I
Showers often dissipate before the evening as they depend on the sun warming the ground and fuelling convection currents. Sometimes they persist until sunset however, and can produce some of the most dramatic light in the British summer landscape. The dark clouds overhead were beginning to glow a deep amber colour while low sunlight briefly flooded underneath, grazing the foliage in the Walled Garden. Such scenes can almost look a little unnatural when recorded on film, but there has been no manipulation to achieve this effect. June 2009.
