January at the Kitchen
The heavy snow gave me most of the conditions that I had hoped for to add to my Community Greenhouses work, and quite a few that I hadn't imagined. This rustic landscape of browns and whites had many of the aesthetic qualities of old north European (particularly Germanic) paintings that have always been an influence on me, and it has become a new winter favourite. The snow caps on the dry sunflower heads are particularly appealing. January 2010.
