MAX A RUSH PHOTOGRAPHY

Thornhill Square III
One of the ways in which I attempt to make my urban work distinctive is by using clouds as an integral part of the structural landscape. The presence of clouds not only tends to improve the light quality, but makes for greater visual interest and variety of tone and colour. In depicting historical places I often try to use the distinctive cumulus clouds favoured by many landscape painters and thus culturally associated with scenes of European grandeur. There can be many technical challenges for the photographer attempting to capture the large brightness range of clouds on a sunny day, but I have refined the methods for acheiving this reliably.
