Winter Birch Tree, Queen Mary's Gate

The delicacy of this ornamental tree with its contorted, snow-lined branches and scattered golden leaves struck me during a grey December morning. The stately house just visible along the road to the Queen Mary's Gate made an excellent focal point through this tunnel of branches. I feel this picture brings a new level of sophistication to my Dulwich Park portfolio. December 2010.
