Evening Shower over Staithes I

This short series of photographs from the beck looking towards the village are some of my favourites from the day's work. Having hardly any time to explore, I quickly settled on this concept as a way of showing the stacked buildings from a square-on angle and also including the passing multi-coloured shower clouds and the water below. The green algae on the banks is also an important element. This one is probably my favourite despite having a cooler tone and less spectacular clouds, as I think the overall sky structure is more fitting. The decorative lamppost to the right of the blue house is also clearer here than in other versions. July 2010.
