First Impression, Corrie
The photographs in this gallery are from a short trip to the Isle of Arran (North Ayrshire) in June 2009. I stayed in the small east-coast town of Corrie, and if most of the photographs are from this area, it is because the geology of the beaches along this part of the coast is so varied and dramatic. While I happen to know quite a few people from the island, it is thanks to Joe Cornish’s work in “Scotland’s Coast” that I knew of this particular area and thought it looked promising for the type of work I had in mind. I was lucky enough to experience very good conditions on every day during my stay, both at dawn and at sunset, and this photograph is from my first evening. It is also the first photograph of any kind I have made in Scotland and also my first recent coastal image from the UK, hence the title. June 2009.
