Sandstone Shore and Dried Seaweed I
An obvious feature of the Corrie shore during my visit were the extensive patches and lines of almost white dried seaweed, apparently covered with crystalline salt. Like snow, frost or the salt deposits of the American southwest, they provided great opportunities for subtle reflected colours from different parts of the sky. In this photograph the seaweed forms a dusting of flakes, following the inclined contours of the sandstone ridges and their shadows. June 2009.
