Dominant Beech Tree, Garreg Ddu

Following my recent "Beauty of Winter" exhibition, it seemed logical to start concentrating on the other seasons. The summer weather was less than ideal despite many attempts, but I managed to get one good autumn day this (last) year, during which I made all the photographs on this page. It was certainly not the best autumn day of the year in the Elan Valley, but hopefully gives a glimpse of glories yet to come. This beech tree seemed to dominate the surrounding trees, and the light from the reservoir below has added to the unusual appearence of the scene. November 2009.
