Pen y Garreg Rainbow Woods

The photographs in this gallery were made during my "Beauty of Winter" exhibition at the visitor centre. I had hoped to make a good start on a summer portfolio during my time manning the exhibition, but despite staying in the area most evenings, it turned out to be a difficult task. High winds and heavy rain dominated the weather, and the sun only broke through occasionally. I decided to concentrate on the as-yet neglected Pen y Garreg woodland, and this rainbow fragment during a clearing evening shower marked a rare moment of good light. August 2009.
