Garreg Ddu Indigo Forest
I have always been photographically interested in the mature deciduous woodland on the banks of the Garreg Ddu reservoir and often hope to find interesting colours reflected between the trees from the water and the hills on the far side. On this winter morning in February 2009 I passed the area at around dawn, heading through the valley on foot as the snow on the road was too heavy for my car. I think the combination of delicately coloured light and lightly snow-dusted branches make this my most successful photograph of this wood so far.
