Ice-Covered Cliffs and Crescent Moon, Craig Goch
The same ice sheet yet again, here seen flowing over the rocks high on Esgair Brithgwm. This was a technically difficult image to make with considerable depth and differences in brightness as well as a strong wind. I am glad it worked though, as the glossy, transparent ice made a very unusual natural sculpture in the evening light. Whenever I manage to include a crescent moon I think of American master Michael Fatali who uses it very powerfully in the dramatic landscapes of the southwest. January 2009.
