Wowo Campsite

Years of summer camping in Wowo, near Uckfield in East Sussex (www.wowo.co.uk) led me to reflect on how interesting it would be to photograph it properly through the year. Its clover- covered fields attract beautiful diaphanous morning mists and along ditches lined with yellow clay grow dense, twisting hornbeams, polished by the clambering of exploratory children. The presence of tents and campfires adds to the appeal, and in the colder months will create quite spectacular scenes that I’m looking forward to photographing. I’m keen to see what all the many families who frequent Wowo will make of my project when it reaches maturity. I hope they will recognise a fellow admirer of this shared home away from home.
